Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Coursity. They’re written to be read — short, specific, and matching how the product actually works. By creating an account you agree to them.

Your account

You need to be at least 16, provide accurate signup details, and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. One account per person.

Your content

The course materials you upload remain yours. You give us the limited license needed to do what you’re asking us to do with them: store them, convert them, index them, and feed them to the AI tutor for you. We don’t sell your content or use it to train models for other users. Only upload materials you have the right to use — your own notes, materials your institution provides you for study, and content you’ve licensed.

The AI tutor can be wrong

Coursity generates explanations, quizzes, and study guidance with AI, grounded in your materials. It is a study aid, not an oracle: verify anything that matters — especially before an exam — against your course materials and instructor. We don’t guarantee accuracy, and Coursity output is not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

Academic integrity

Coursity is built to help you actually learn the material. Your school’s honor code is your responsibility: don’t use Coursity to complete graded work where AI assistance is prohibited, and don’t submit its output as your own where that violates your institution’s rules. Misuse of that kind is on you, not us.

Plans and billing

• Free plan — the full AI tutor with unlimited courses, subject to a periodic free-usage allowance.
• Pro — a subscription billed per account through Stripe ($19.99/month, or $191/year at a 20% saving): no usage cap, deadline reminders, and priority support.
• Cancel anytime — cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period. When a subscription ends, your account returns to the free plan: your courses stay readable and nothing is deleted; Pro features (deadline reminders, no usage cap) end and the free-usage allowance applies again.
• Prices are shown at checkout. If we change pricing, existing subscribers get notice before it affects them.

Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the service: no attempting to access other users’ data, no scraping or reselling the AI output at scale, no uploading malware or content you have no right to, no circumventing usage limits, and no using Coursity to harass anyone. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that threaten the service or other users.

Termination

You can delete your account whenever you want (email hello@coursity.ai). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; where reasonable we’ll warn you first. On termination your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

Coursity is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (including academic outcomes). Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we’ll email your account address before they take effect. Continuing to use Coursity after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
